Well done to Molly from Hampshire who says “a big thank you to The Gurney Fund for all the support and generosity over the past years throughout my education. Through your financial help I was able to focus on my degree at Keele University and have achieved a First Class honours in Biochemistry. I had my graduation ceremony where I had a really lovely time spent with family and friends. I was also awarded the Biochemistry Performance award for gaining the best overall grades in Biochemistry from my year. I also wanted to take this opportunity to thank all the volunteers who help at the sailing holiday which I attended for two summers. Some of the crew were a huge support for me and I look back on those holidays with fond memories”.
Amanda from Thames Valley is extremely proud of daughter Holly who has graduated from Nottingham Trent University with a degree in forensic psychology. Amanda says ” my son Ryan, who is nearly 30 now, is still using a specialist computer which The Gurney Fund paid towards when he was at university. I just wanted to thank all the trustees for their support over the years”. Holly is pictured with Andrew from Hertfordshire who has also graduated from Nottingham Trent with a degree in Criminology; Holly and Andrew met and became friends through The Gurney Fund sailing holidays.
Congratulations also to Myfanwy from Gwent who graduated from Cardiff with a 1st Class Honours in Politics, History and Japanese and will be starting a three-year teaching position in Japan.
